Artist's Biography

A New York City trained, award-winning painter, Joyce Prigot has been drawing and painting all her life. She has earned many juried awards and participated in over 40 group exhibitions.

Joyce Prigot artistPrigot received her BFA in 2000 from Queens College, NYC, graduating magna cum laude. Prigot pursued additional full-time training as a contemporary realist painter at the Art Students’ League of New York, where she studied primarily with Gregg Kreutz and Richard Pionk. In addition, she sought out semi-private instruction in portraiture with David Benyon Pena and workshops with David Leffel and Everett Raymond Kintsler. While living in Washington state, she honed her plein-air painting skills by taking workshops with Thomas Wood (Bellingham) and Mitchell Albala (Seattle).

Currently residing in central New Jersey, Prigot concentrates on abstracts and still-lifes.
